Why run the Tarawera Trail Marathon & 50k?

The Tarawera Trail Marathon & 50k is a spectacular course in a unique geothermal landscape that starts at the world famous Pohutu Geyser, cuts through the Hemo Gorge, and takes cover under the beauty of Whakarewarewa Forest. This point-to-point marathon in Rotorua commands views of five lakes: Lake Rotorua, Rotokakahi (Green Lake), Tikitapu (Blue Lake), Tarawera and Rotomahana. The race concludes right under Mount Tarawera at Hot Water Beach. A scenic boat ride then takes you back home after you soak in the hot pools or jump in the lake.
