The blue ribband event of the weekend is the City of Rotorua Half Marathon, the only running event to bring Rotorua’s main thoroughfare, Fenton St, to a standstill. There’s also a super fast and flat 10k, an easy 4k community run and we round things off with a 2km kids’ dash. The 14th edition of New Zealand’s only Ekiden Sport Event is set to circumnavigate Lake Rotorua on Saturday 8 October 2016. Join almost 2,000 other runners and walkers for a fun event, a challenging run or walk and a great day out with your mates! The Hi-Tec Rotorua Ekiden follows the famous marathon course for 42km, split into six achievable segments that vary in distance from 5km to 8km.
