The History of Holiday Inn
Back in 1952, a father named Kemmons Wilson was sick of being charged extra to have kids at hotels, so he started his own hotel company where kids were not only welcomed but they got to stay and eat for free! That was the beginning of the Holiday Inn brand and that same concept still applies today at all our brands including the Holiday Inn Rotorua where we are committed to providing family-friendly travel options.
What are the benefits of kids stay & eat for free?
As a family-orientated Rotorua hotel every detail has been thought through carefully to make sure you feel right at home during your stay.
Kids Stay Free applies to those kids 12 years and under that are staying in the same room as their parent(s) in existing bedding.
Kids Eat Free is available for up to two children under the age of 12 who stay in a room with their parents. Our famous Chapman’s Buffet Restaurant is a great place for kids with a huge variety of delicious and nutritious dishes. Please note, kids must be accompanied by at least one adult who is registered as a hotel guest and when dining at Chapmans Restaurant. If the buffet doesn’t take their fancy, have a look at our Kid’s menu.
Terms & Conditions
Kids Stay Free* – Up to 2 children* stay free when sharing a room with up to 2 adults, where maximum room occupancy laws allow. Baby cot is complimentary while rollaway bed may be chargeable Kids Eat Free* – For registered guests only. Available for children* when ordering for breakfast, lunch & dinner in the hotel’s dine-in restaurant from the Kids’ Menu** and when accompanied by at least 1 adult who is registered as a hotel guest and who must order at least one main course from the full priced menu. Limit 4 children per dining family. Not available for room service or with room rates negotiated for groups of 10 or more rooms, travel industry rates or employee rates.
