Whakarewarewa is a living Maori thermal village, which is located 200 metres from the hotel.
ATTRACTIONS IN ROTORUA VIEW ROOMS
Many of the residents of the village today are from the Tuhourangi tribe and are the descendants of the survivors of the Mount Tarawera eruption.
The village is surrounded by a landscape of spectacular geothermal activity including the Pohutu and Prince of Wales Geysers, bubbling mud pools and springs of boiling water. It is a cultural hub where visitors are invited to share the traditional Maori way of life, take part in cultural performances or experience a tour of the geothermal wonders provided by local guides.
Open daily from 8.30am until 5pm.
